The marbles are being created in the Australian capital, Canberra, as part of a project to replace the ageing marble.
The marbles were created as part the Canberra City Council’s new ‘marble garden’ initiative, and are part of the city’s ongoing work to replace marble and the surrounding land around it.
City councillor, Anne van Rensburg, said the project was designed to provide a “fresh and engaging experience” for Canberraites.
“This is a new initiative in Canberra and is about bringing the City of Canberra into the 21st century,” she said.

They have a long history and they are very important to the city and it’s really important for the city to have a vibrant urban environment.”
